In this day and age of constant digital progress, it is important for every company to keep one´s eye on the ball, to continue to develop and not to stay still. Because standing still means “game over” in many cases. For this reason, SugarCRM has decided to update their user interface. The new design is modern, user-friendly and intuitive, and will help you do your work more effectively. The SugarCRM team has been working hard to improve the user interface and add new features or improve existing ones that will help you access the features you need faster and easier. The user interface redesign is based on direct customer feedback, research, and design best practices.
What is changing visually as a result?
- Sidebar navigation: the current “mega menu” moves from the top to a new, modern left navigation bar. This clearly separates navigation and content. Intuitive icons are used here and by keeping the secondary menu structure, users can keep their existing mental model of how to proceed as well.
- Footer: Footer elements have been moved to the left navigation bar or menus, to maximize workspace as a result.
- New Open button: It is located at the top left (three-line icon). When clicked, additional modules are displayed.
What new / improved features does the new user interface have?
In addition to the visual changes, there is also a whole range of new or improved functions. For example, you now have the possibility to personalize the arrangement of the modules, to add abbreviations/symbols in the module list or to include a customer-specific logo.
As of version 13.0, you can also pin additional modules to the navigation bar. In addition, there is an improvement to the focus drawer. Within the focus drawer, additional tabs can be opened by clicking on links. The usability of the Service & Renewals console has also been improved.
Of course, the redesign also impacts the day-to-day user experience. Part of this change is new navigation and positioning of elements.
