I think most people would answer this question very quickly with a clear and unequivocal YES. But why? What does a website do for me? What tasks and functions does it have?
Quite a lot of questions, but before we try to find answers to them, I want to explain to you with an example what a website is exactly.
A website can be compared to a book in a library. The library in this case is the Internet and a website, a book, with at least one or more pages in it. Now, when a new book (website) is added, it allows everyone to have access to that book.
But how is such a website structured?
A website consists of individual elements, the start page (homepage) and several subpages (websites).
As different as the books in a library, as different can be the websites on the net. For example, there is the classic corporate website, which is a kind of digital business card of a company, or the e-commerce website, which specialize in online commerce (Amazon, Zalando,….), and many more.
A website has the task of informing a visitor and thus creates a certain transparency for potential customers. It is used to acquire new customers, but also to retain customer loyalty and provides the company with a wider reach and promotes trust. Through branding, one gains a higher recognition value and thus lays the foundation for a basis of trust. It also provides interaction with customers e.g. via comments on a blog.
So we see that a website offers us and our company numerous opportunities. It is virtually the figurehead on the internet and for this reason also important for a company and also for online marketing.
